Our drum teachers are extremely skilled musicians and can teach a variety of styles including rock, contemporary, jazz, latin, funk and more. All our teachers are qualified to teach drum notation.

Alex Megaw has extensive experience both as a performer and teacher. He has an Advanced Diploma of Contemporary Music from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has played in numerous bands around Perth including the Volcanics and the Little Lord Street Band, with which he has toured nationally and internationally.

He is one of our longest serving, and most well liked, teachers here at Sound Centre School of Music!

Rohan emerged in the early 2000s as a live performer and original contributor with several notable band's within the WA music scene; including Mr Tickle, Soul Aquarium, Superengine and later with Arkayan and 99 & one half day. Rohan has studied with teachers including Bruce Devenish and Ric Eastman. His eclectic style includes a cross section of rock, funk, progressive pop and blues. Having first started playing live at age 11, he has performed at events such as Rally Australia, Perth Festival, In the Pines Festival and several Wami showcase events. Other than being an experienced and patient teacher, his skill set includes a knowledge of drum tuning - through which he enjoys assisting other drummers and several local studios in finding their own unique live and recorded sounds.
